About Joshua S. Agranat, M.D.
Joshua Agranat, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon at Advanced Retina, where he cares for patients throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. He is committed to providing individualized, thoughtful care and ensuring each patient fully understands their condition and treatment options. He works closely with referring optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide seamless, coordinated care for each patient.
Dr. Agranat earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his internship at Harvard Medical School / Cambridge Health Alliance. He then completed ophthalmology residency at the world renowned Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts Eye and Ear, followed by fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Boston Medical Center / Boston University School of Medicine.
He is a prolific author with numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters on topics including retinal detachment, three dimensional surgical viewing systems in vitreoretinal surgery, age-related macular degeneration, choroidal pathology, ocular biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease, and ocular infections. He has been an invited speaker to numerous regional, national, and international conferences.
Prior to joining Advanced Retina, Dr. Agranat practiced at the Retina and Vitreous Center of Southern Oregon. Dr. Agranat is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds active memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
